Golgappa® Handmade Jewellery

My constant desire for Golgappas led to the name of my jewellery brand Golgappa®, which is a UK Registered Trademark and I have been the owner of www.Golgappa.com for over 20 years!

I love Golgappas! My love for Golgappas stems back to 1974. I went on a family holiday to Ludhiana in Punjab, India where my cousin took me to eat Golgappas from a street vendor. We ate Suji ones and atta ones. I was hooked. They were so tasty.

Golgappa – India’s favorite street food

‘Gol’ refers to the crispy shell, and ‘gappa’ is the eating process.

Golgappas are known by several different names across India. Another popular name is Pani Puri. It is a round hollow ‘puri’, filled with a mixture of spicy water, tamarind chutney, potato, and chickpeas.

The story of Golgappa is a mythological tale and the other historical. The mythological tale of Golgappa can be traced to the ‘Mahabharata’. Historically, the person who may have invented Golgappa is lost in the pages of history. No matter how much people try to commercialise Golgappa with other fillings, chocolate coatings, and alcoholic fluids, the original Golgappa can never be beaten for its unique mouthwatering taste.

Family & Friends Collection

Gifts and Jewellery for family and friends will capture the great moments in time and create memories to last a lifetime. A special handmade gift will never be forgotten by the wearer. If you want to add a personal tag, name, date, time, initials, we can do that if you let us know.

Gemstones & Silver Collection

We use ‘ethically mined natural gemstones’ from one supplier (except where items are called Costume jewellery). The beauty of a Natural gemstone will have visible inclusions and will not be perfectly smooth cuts and each stone will not be identical. Natural gemstones are heat treated to enhance their colour and beauty but many others do not need to be heated.

We use 925 sterling silver and recycled silver in the form of 935 Argentium Silver, which is also hypoallergenic. We also use 999 Fine silver wire and recycled 999 Silver clay.
